North Liverpool areas have contributed substantially to the success of the region, and also they boast some attractive local leisure spots. The region offers high street shopping, gift stores and numerous heritage sites. West Derby is one of the regions most historic areas, with attractive residential properties and a wide range of older buildings. Anfield is a local town that is home to Liverpool FC (and it was previously the home to Everton). Stanley Park, not to confused with the one in Vancouver, is a 45 hectare park situated between the football grounds. This park contains the 1899 Gladstone Conservatory building. Everton is one of Liverpool's most famous regions, being home to the "Greatie" market and a sandstone water tower built in 1864. An area increasing in popularity is "Old Swan", home to a variety of wine bars, restaurants, a cinema, and a bowling centre. Walton is a thriving area, home to Everton and nearby to regenerating Bootle. Aintree is located just North of Liverpool, known for its racecourse that stages the Grand National horse race.
